Can skipping meals make you heavier?

A study in Finland measured the eating habits of 512 children from the ages of 6 to 8. According to their research, kids that skipped meals have a greater chance of gaining excess fat.

People have known for a while that healthier people have three meals a day. On the other hand, people have not necessarily known that going without meals may actually lead to weight gain.

The study also found that skipping meals is associated with greater heart risk. This, on top of the excess weight factor, should give caution to meal skippers.
