Hormone Treatments Available

Estrogen

Bio-identical estrogen replacement therapy is designed to replace this vital hormone when the ovaries no longer produce it. Bio-identical estrogen provides cardiovascular protection and relief from the unpleasant menopause symptoms like hot flashes and night sweats.

  • Increases: Bone density, energy and libido
  • Decreases: Mood swings, fatigue, vaginal atrophy, vaginal dryness, incontinence, facial wrinkles, heart disease, strokes and menopause symptoms
  • Improves: Skin elasticity, skin tone and static balance
  • Prevents: Depression, Alzheimer's disease, urinary tract infections, cataracts, macular degeneration, colon cancer, osteoporosis, cognitive decline, memory loss and insomnia
  • Protects: The cardiovascular system, skeletal system and brain

Estradiol is the primary estrogen hormone that provides beneficial effects associated with the estrogens.  Estrogens are primarily secreted by the ovaries and have protective effects against many diseases such as heart disease, Alzheimer's disease, strokes and osteoporosis.

Progesterone

Progesterone starts to decline after the age of 35 and before menopause in most women. Low levels of progesterone can result in sleep alteration and/or insomnia, anxiety and nervousness, palpitations and mood alterations, not "feeling like yourself" and annoying hot flashes.

Progesterone has been proven to reduce hot flashes.  Progesterone also has a natural calming effect for the brain and generally improves sleep and decreases anxiety. It also has a mild mood elevating effect and helps to lessen depression. Often women with hormone imbalance just need additional progesterone to alleviate the menopausal symptoms they experience.

Progesterone should be given along with estrogen for maximum benefit,  including prevention of osteoporosis, improved mood and better sense of well being.  The most important benefits of progesterone is that it builds bone and has anti-cancer effects.

  • Protects: The uterus, breasts (against cancer), cardiovascular system and skeletal system
  • Prevents: Osteoporosis, fibrocystic disease and depression
  • Improves: Carotid artery health and bone density
  • Enhances: Sense of well being and sleep

DHEA

DHEA is the most common steroid hormone in the body. As with other hormones, our bodies produce progressively less DHEA as we age. DHEA has proven to have many health benefits.

  • Increases: Energy, bone density and immunity
  • Prevents: Diabetes, heart disease, osteoporosis and atherosclerosis
  • Improves: Mood, memory, depression and erectile dysfunction
  • Decreases: Visceral fat and cholesterol

Research has proven that youthful DHEA levels can be closely associated with good health while low levels have been connected to various life-threatening diseases. With hormone replacement therapy, a physician is able to calibrate the body's balance of hormones. Since DHEA metabolizes into other hormones, DHEA therapy can help your body choose which hormones it needs. Then, your body appropriately synthesizes that hormone out of the DHEA. This may account for the astonishing range of benefits that many researchers attribute to DHEA replacement therapy, which is also an important complement to testosterone therapy.

Testosterone

Testosterone is produced in both men and women. It enhances mental well-being and clarity of thought.  This hormone decreases with age, leading to depression, fatigue and poor muscle tone or endurance.  Studies have shown that supplementing testosterone produced positive results in improving lean muscle mass, strengthening muscle, reducing all over body fate, increasing bone mineral density and improving libido in both men and women.  Testosterone also improves hyperlipidemia, increases energy, improves skin tone and promotes healing.

  • Increases: Bone density, strength and endurance, exercise tolerance, muscle mass, libido and sexual performance
  • Decreases: Fat, cholesterol, intra media arterial wall thickness, diseases of aging and insulin resistance
  • Improves: Lean muscle mass, healing and skin tone
  • Prevents: Alzheimer's disease, depression, osteoporosis, skin atrophy and tendon and joint degeneration
  • Protects: The cardiovascular system, neurological system, muscles and bones
  • Enhances: Memory, well being, psychological status and sexual function

Testosterone Therapy

Using an appropriate testosterone therapy program, men achieve youthful levels of the vital male hormone testosterone. They experience increased muscle mass, enhanced energy and faster healing with more cardiovascular endurance and better recovery. Other benefits include stronger bones and muscles, enhanced memory and libido, better sleep, improved mood with less anxiety, a decrease in total body fat and an improved cholesterol profile.

Thyroid

Thyroid Hormone Therapy

Thyroid hormone therapy raises low levels of thyroid hormones. If your thyroid output is low, you usually won't have much energy. You will have trouble losing weight and feel tired more often than usual. The natural hormones called Armour Thyroid and Westhroid treat an under-active thyroid that is secreting little or no thyroid hormones. Thyroid hormone therapy is usually administered in pill form.

  • Increases: Energy, motivation, cognitive reaction, metabolism and ability to lose weight
  • Prevents: Weakness, cold hands and feet, thin skin, fragile hair, brittle nails and depression
  • Decreases: Fatigue, weight gain, body fat, mental slowness and constipation

Human Growth Hormone

Produced naturally from the pituitary gland, Human Growth Hormone (HGH) is responsible for the growth of lean muscle and bone mass.  Growth hormone levels decrease naturally as we grow older. In fact, human growth hormone levels in individuals 60 or older are only about half the amount found in young adults. Reduced levels of growth hormone associated with aging contribute to age-related decreases in muscle mass, strength and lipolysis.

  • Increases: Life expectancy, re-growth,  muscle mass, strength, energy, sexual performance, bone strength and bone growth
  • Improves: Sleep, sense of well being, mood, wound healing and immune system
  • Decreases: Disease, body fat, cholesterol, osteopenia, cellulite and cardiovascular disease

Human Growth Hormone Therapy

HGH therapy is responsible for repairing damaged cells and producing new ones. As we age, our pituitary glands produce less and less of this healing hormone. This means our bodies become less able to repair damaged cells, resulting in the physical and mental aging process.

HGH will enhance your cardiac output, amplify your muscle mass, allow you to sleep better, strengthen bones and muscles, enhance your immune system, lower your blood pressure, enhance your mood and sleep patterns and allow your body to resist disease.

Melatonin

Melatonin is an endogenous hormone that works to maintain our natural circadian rhythm, which determines our wake and sleep cycle.  As we age, production of this hormone decreases.  Supplementing melatonin improves sleep patterns as well as the depth and quality of sleep.

  • Improves: Sleep, immune function, energy and enhances mood
  • Increases: Natural killer cells
