Initial Visit

After making an appointment, you will need to arrive 'fasting' (nothing to eat for at least 8 hours before your appointment time – you can drink water, black coffee or unsweetened tea). We will perform an EKG and an Inbody (a type of body composition test) as well as take a small sample of blood to send for laboratory analysis. We will schedule a follow-up visit within one week after your initial blood test to review the findings.

On your return visit, you will meet with one of our BHRT specialists to review your blood work, body comp report and your questionnaires. You will also get a prescription for a one month supply of the bioidentical hormone replacement therapy medications prescribed specifically for you. If you have opted for subcutaneous pellets, you will have your pellets inserted at this time. If you have opted for pellets, you will be scheduled to return for labs in six weeks to check your levels and have an eight-week visit. If you opted for creams, pill and troches, we would schedule you for a follow-up in four weeks.

Before leaving, you will be scheduled to have your labs drawn in three weeks.

Follow-up visits:

Follow-up visits are typically required once every three months during the first year of treatment. On these visits, adjustments to your hormones and medications may be made based upon symptoms and lab values. After the initial year of treatment, follow-up visits will only be required twice a year and labs will only be required once a year.
